We looked at the Transport Administration’s open data on crashes with injuries from January to September 2026. There were 94 such crashes involving a motorcyclist. Four people were killed and 99 were injured.

Most crashes happened in June: 21 of them. From May to August there were 73 of the 94 crashes.

Almost two thirds of the crashes (60) fell on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The most dangerous day of the week is Saturday, with 25 cases. The most dangerous time is from 15:00 to 18:00: those three hours accounted for 32 crashes.

Bad weather has almost nothing to do with it. Most crashes happened in daylight, in clear weather and on a dry road. In half of the cases (48) only the motorcycle was involved: for example, the rider fell or left the road. A car driver was involved in 34 crashes. More than half of all cases (50) were in Harju County.

The conclusion is simple: a sunny weekend is no reason to relax. Those are the days to be especially careful on the road.
