Tartu, 11 October. At 16:41 a 20-year-old BMW driver failed to give way at the crossing of Narva highway and Peetri street. His car hit a Yamaha motorcycle that was on the main road. The 26-year-old rider was taken to hospital.
Koovälja, 11 October. At about 17:40, at kilometre 1.4 of the Koovälja–Kohala road, a motorcyclist left the road and was injured. Medics took him to hospital.
Saaremaa, 3 October. Police were told that in Vanalõve village a motorcyclist, believed to be drunk, drove into a ditch. When he got back onto the road he did not stop for the police and tried to flee on a Harley-Davidson. In Kalli village he lost control and hit a stone wall. The injured rider was taken to hospital.
In autumn the roads are often wet and it gets dark earlier. Riders should keep a margin in their speed, and car drivers should look more carefully at junctions. Only a sober person should get on a bike.
