Honda recalls the CMX500, CL250 and CL500, and Carburo and Befast helmets are unsafe

Makers have announced new recalls of motorcycle products. Owners should check their bike and their gear.
Honda is recalling the CMX500, CL250 and CL500. On these bikes a loose screw can get into the steering. That can spoil the steering or disconnect the steering lock. The rider can then lose control, fall and be hurt.
There are also recalls of Chinese-made motorcycle helmets from Carburo and Befast. These helmets do not absorb enough impact energy. The fastening can come undone easily, and then the helmet can fly off the head in a fall or a hit.
What owners can do. If you have a Honda CMX500, CL250 or CL500, ask an official dealer whether your bike is in the recall. Recall repairs are usually free. If you wear a Carburo or Befast helmet, stop using it and replace it with a certified one.
