Moto Guzzi The Trip 2027: Mandello’s first youth roadster for an A2 licence

Moto Guzzi has presented The Trip, a light 500 cc roadster that starts a new generation of its motorcycles. For the first time in many years this is a Moto Guzzi without the brand’s transverse V-twin: it has an inline twin instead. Power is almost 48 hp, so the bike suits riders with an A2 licence.
The Trip’s main strengths are simplicity and a light weight. The motorcycle weighs 180 kg ready to ride, and the seat starts at 790 mm. The riding position is upright and natural: the machine is for people moving onto a motorcycle for the first time, for those coming back after a break, and for experienced riders who want an easy bike for every day.
The engine pulls from low down, so in town you do not have to keep changing gear. There is a ride-by-wire throttle and three modes: Road, Sport and Rain. The round LED headlight plays on the Moto Guzzi eagle, and a round 3.6-inch TFT screen connects to a phone. Arrow navigation and a quickshifter are extra.
The public launch is at EICMA in Milan on 5–8 November 2026 (hall 9, stand E76). The Trip reaches dealers at the start of 2027.
