Yamaha before EICMA: three heartbeats and a promise to break the rhythm
Desk · 22 Oct 2026 · 4 min read

On the evening of 2 November, the day before EICMA opens, Yamaha holds a closed press presentation in Milan. It starts at 18:00 Central European time, which is 19:00 in Estonia. The Japanese company will not say what it will show.
The invitation is called Redefine the Standard. On it there is only a line like a cardiogram, with three peaks at uneven intervals. Under that, three lines: the industry has lived in one rhythm for too long. We are ready to challenge it. Something new is coming. No model name, no engine size, no photograph.
After that the guesses begin. Journalists think the three peaks mean a three-cylinder engine, and the uneven gaps an uneven firing order, like the T-plane in the Triumph Tiger 900. The name mentioned most often is a Ténéré 900, a big enduro above the Ténéré 700. So far that is only the press version: the word Ténéré has not appeared in Yamaha’s official messages.
EICMA itself runs from 3 to 8 November at Fiera Milano Rho, outside Milan. Metro line M1 goes there, to the Rho Fiera station. 3 and 4 November are for the press and the trade, and entry is only from the age of 18. The show is open to everyone from 5 to 8 November, from 9:30 to 18:30 local time. The organisers call the 83rd show the biggest in its history: ten halls, 754 exhibitors and 2,120 brands from 52 countries.
A ticket online costs €20, a child’s ticket (4–13) costs €10, plus a €1.50 fee. At the box office on site the prices are €25 and €12. There is also a ticket for the second half of the day, from 13:30: online €14 and €7. Children under three enter free. Tickets are sold on eicma.it.
Yamaha will not be alone on those days. On 3 November at 10:45 Milan time (11:45 in Estonia) KTM and Husqvarna hold their press conferences in hall 22. At 13:00 (14:00 in Estonia) Morbidelli shows its new models, with a live stream on YouTube, and at 15:45 (16:45 in Estonia) BENDA does the same. In the same hall 22 there will be the MotoGP history show Speed Legends and a Dakar display.
