Yamaha has updated the smallest hyper-naked in the MT family. For 2027 the MT-125 is sharper and slimmer, closer to the older MT-07 and MT-09, while the mechanical package is almost untouched.

What changed. The tank has a new, more sculpted shape, the seat is new too, and the silhouette is longer and thinner. The side panels have smoked translucent inserts with a glitch pattern and the MT logo. The nose is sharp and angular: slim LED lights, new indicators and a dark smoked mask with a matt MT-125 badge.

What stayed. The 125 cc single is still there, liquid-cooled, with four valves and the VVA variable valve system, and it meets EU5+. Yamaha says it makes 11 kW (15 hp) at 10,000 rpm and 11.5 Nm at 8,000 rpm. That is the ceiling for an A1 licence. The Deltabox frame, the 41 mm upside-down fork and the 810 mm seat height are unchanged. Motorcycle News puts the weight ready to ride at 142 kg. The instruments are a 5-inch TFT screen, linked to a phone through the MyRide app. There is turn-by-turn navigation, calls, music and messages.

Colours and price. The new colour is Redline White, with a two-tone seat. Ice Storm, Icon Blue and Tech Black stay. Dealers will have the bike in the first quarter of 2027. In the catalogue of the Estonian dealer Yamahakeskus the MT-125 2027 costs €5,790. The bike will be shown in person at EICMA in Milan. Yamaha is in hall 10, stand E90.
