Saaremaa via the Virtsu – Kuivastu ferry
Tallinn — Virtsu — ferry — Kuivastu — Muhu — Orissaare — Kuressaare. About 225 km one way, a weekend trip.

The crossing takes 27 minutes. In summer there can be up to 34 sailings a day. Then Muhu and the causeway take you onto Saaremaa. Kuressaare has the bishop’s castle.
If you have time, turn off to the Kaali crater or the Sõrve peninsula. Come back on the same ferry. On the map the ferry between Virtsu and Kuivastu is a dashed line.
