These are the highest hills in the Baltic countries. The road from Võru through Haanja to Suur Munamägi (318 m) runs over the hills. A narrow asphalt road leads towards the top. It is the highest road in Estonia and the Baltics, but the last 450 metres are closed to private vehicles. From the 29-metre viewing tower you can see 50 km around, and there is a café below. You can return through Rõuge.
The newspaper Maaleht calls the road from Antsla to Kanepi one of the most beautiful classic roads in southern Estonia. Just after the Tõrva – Võru highway the road turns left, and without warning the ancient Urvaste valley opens up, with a church among the trees.
