Wash the salt off before it sits

Estonian roads get salt in winter. Salt stays on the chain, the brake disc and the bolts. If the bike sits like that until spring, the rust is already there.

Wash the bike after a salty ride, not in April. Warm water and a brush take the mud off. Then dry it, especially around the chain and under the engine.

Do not aim a hard jet straight into bearings, the air filter or electrical plugs. Mud gets in easier than it gets out.
